For instance, it takes a 2nd grader around 3.4 minutes to read Clifford the Big Red Dog, and a 4th grader around 21.7 hours to finish reading the immense Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. If you have a child in this age group, it might be interesting to see where they fall on this chart for comparison. Just remember, these numbers won’t hold true for every kid; they’re just an average. I’m sure some enthusiastic children might take 10 minutes to read Clifford. Especially, if they really want to absorb every moment. If I remember correctly, I finished that Harry Potter book in about 10 hours. I was a nerd, what can I say.
